Export transparent bitmaps as transparent instead of with a mask to prevent aliasing problems in PDF
Steps to reproduce:
Convert the attached SVG to PDF using command line tools or GUI. Export DPI was set to 1200 DPI.
What happened?
The image has a slight grey border around it in the attached PDF -- to view it, i used Acrobat, zoomed in to 1000% and "Smooth line art" and "Smooth images" is unchecked. It seems the PNG transparency "border" is colored in grey. The outline is not present in the original PNG.
What should have happened?
No border should appear. Exporting a pdf with the same PNG from InDesign does not generate the hairline grey border. The boundary between image and transparent space should not be visible. When converting the same SVG to a PNG that border does not show up.
