Unable to open JPG files
Steps to reproduce:
- open Inkscape 0.92.4 or 1.0-beta2 on Windows 10
- open file dialog and select JPG, or drag and drop it into inkscape
- ------ OR ------
- via command line in Inkscape 0.92.4: convert SVG with external JPGs - to PNG or to PDF (both ubuntu 16 and windows 10)
What happened?
in GUI - alert "Failed to load the requested file". in cmd - result file has red boxes "Linked image not found" in places where jpgs must be.
What should have happened?
Full JPG support, like in all other programs.
Inkscape Version and Operating System:
- Inkscape Version: 0.92.4, 1.0-beta2
- Operating System: Windows 10, Ubuntu server 16
I can provide many different jpegs which is not supported.
This problem happens almost every day, and many years, without any fix.
Please, drop that library or whatever you use for jpeg importing, it is so bad.
Any program can open any jpegs, but why not your program?
Many and many of my clients are suffering every year, seeing "linked image not found".
And I saw many reports about jpegs here. And even wrote one, but can't find it.
