Clone connection lost when original path ID modified

Steps to reproduce:

• Draw a path
• F1, select it
• Clone it (Alt+D)
• Move the clone in order to see original and clone simultaneously
• select original
• Object > Object properties. In the dialog box change the ID and press "Set".

What happened?

• Clone disapeared from the view (consequence of the loss of connection with the original) but it still exits.

What should have happened?

• Clone should not have disapeared (connection with the original should not have been lost).

Please note that everything occurs as expected if original path label is modified.

Inkscape Version and Operating System:

• Inkscape Version: 0.92.4 and 1.0beta2 (418fe52, 2019-12-12)
• Operating System: windows 8.1
