Freeze when choosing "Wheel" color picker on Mac

Steps to reproduce:

• open Inkscape
• draw a rectangle
• make sure the "Fill and stroke" dialog is visible
• in "Fill" > "Flat color", click the "Wheel" button.

What happened?

Instant freeze. Inkscape does not react to anything, even after several minutes. Must be killed.

What should have happened?

Wheel color choice becomes visible.

Inkscape Version and Operating System:

• Inkscape Version: 1.0beta2 (2b71d25, 2019-12-03)
• Operating System: macOS
• Operating System version: Catalina 10.15.2
