Cannot draw straight line with pencil tool using drawing tablet

Summary:

I would like to draw a straight line with the pencil tool like you do with the mouse. Click once to set a starting point, click somewhere else to set the end point. This does not work with my Wacom tablet. I can draw freehand lines, pressure sensitivity works like a dream, but tapping the stylus once on the canvas does not seem to set a starting point for drawing a straight line.

Steps to reproduce:

• Connect Wacom Intuos tablet
• open Inkscape
• select pencil tool
• click once on the canvas using the stylus
• observe no starting point being placed

What happened?

A starting point was not placed :(

What should have happened?

A starting point should have been placed :)
