Ctrl + click does not retract node handle 1.5 (changes node type instead)

Summary:

For many years, Ctrl + click over a node handle, would tract the handle. Even the Key/Mouse Reference page still says so https://inkscape.org/doc/keys.html#id72.

However now, in version 1.5, it does not retract the handle. Instead, it changes the node type (from corner to smooth and back, on repeated clicks).

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Inkscape v 1.5, or the convenient test file I attached
  • draw a path with nodes and node handles, or select such a path
  • position your mouse over a node handle
  • Ctrl + click

What happened?

The type of node changed, depending on what it was originally, from corner to smooth or smooth to corner.

What should have happened?

The node handle should have disappeared ("retracted").
