Severe lag with high tiling quantity preference
Summary:
Recently (for about a week, I think) Inkscape's graphical interface has been visibly lagging behind in relation to the user input, when opening the file, or when switching between windows.
System: Arch (GNOME 49)
Inkscape version: Inkscape 1.4.2 (ebf0e940d0, 2025-05-08)
I am sure this hasn't happened earlier. No other changes to report, beyond the usual system updates. No other programs cause similar issues.
Steps to reproduce:
A) Open Inkscape: any file, even a new, clean project.
B) Have the window not in focus and switch back to it, or switch from other Inscape instances, or other programs.
C) Use the program normally, use tools, select items, etc.
What happened?
A) The program opens for visibly longer than expected/usual.
B) Switching back to Inkscape's window (making it an active window again) causes a few seconds lag before it becomes responsive.
C) The program (ocasionally, but noticeably and repeatedly) is reacting slowly after the usual user input. To use the common language terminology: the program lags severly.
What should have happened?
The program should work in a more seamless manner.
Noticed:
I don't know if this is related at all, but these unusual 3 lines show up on opening Inkscape:
paź 20 15:34:59 pclj org.inkscape.Inkscape[1779640]: invalid accelerator string ''
paź 20 15:34:59 pclj org.inkscape.Inkscape[1779640]: gtk_application_accels_get_actions_for_accel: assertion 'accel_key.key != 0' failed
paź 20 15:34:59 pclj org.inkscape.Inkscape[1779640]: Unable to parse accelerator '': ignored request to install 1 accelerators
