Feature Request: Keyboard shortcut to hide per-object selection cues and transform handles

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Inkscape
  • create vector (any type)
  • enable "Hide Bounding Box" to hide bounding box -- no such feature exists.

Feature request

Inkscape lacks a very useful tool, which has been in Illustrator for many years. In Illustrator, one can "Hide Bounding Box" to see the document without the bounding box. Control + Shift + B hides the bounding box in Illustrator. This is very useful for choosing fonts or doing graphics work, as you can see the document without all the bounding boxes confusing visual aesthetic perception.

I believe this feature would be straightforward to implement and of significant use to all users do typographic work and graphic design.

Inkscape Version and Operating System:

  • 0.92
  • OS: All
