Feature Request: Gradient slider for smoother transitions between stops.

Report bug like a PRO !

Summary:

Inkscape gradients are too abrupt sometimes. It would be ideal to have a gradient slider to control the transitions between colors/opacities.

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Inkscape
  • create a circle with a circular gradient fill from white (100% opacity) to white (0% opacity) over a darker background.
  • Gradient come out with banding/harsh transitions (dithering is enabled in preferences).

...

What should have happened?

Transition between stops should be smoother, or be able to be refined via a "gradient slider" feature or similar. (Please see attached screenshots and comparison with Adobe Illustrator, VectorStyler and Affinity Designer).

The only workaround I found is to blur the gradient in Inkscape, but it's not an ideal solution.

Thank you.
