Emergency save not working (Inkscape 1.3.2 on Linux Mint 21.3)

Summary:

... On a crash inkscape does not make an emergency save file as usual since updating to v 1.3.2

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Inkscape
  • There really isn't any action to describe. If (ups I mean when) inkscape crashes there used to be an emergency file (every version I have used as far as I recall) with filename and date time in the folder of the file itself by saving a lot.
  • For months this has not happened (not to do with the autosave which is working) but I have just "lived" with it. I have not found anything with the trusted Google so I am wondering if this is a user issue rather than a bug.
  • Is the feature broken or is there a setting I need to do to get it back (I miss it because, well inkscape does like to freeze and crash).

What happened?

...Crash...no emergency file

What should have happened?

...Crash...an emergency file is made
