better names for the new "autotrace" options in Trace Bitmap, 1.0 beta

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Inkscape 1.0 beta
  • inspect the Trace Bitmap dialog

What happened?

I see a new option in both Single Scan and Multiple Scan categories, called "autotrace" in both places. As a user, I think of the whole of Trace Bitmap dialog as "autotracing". Therefore, I have no idea what these new autotrace options do, or how they are different from the other options or between single and multiple scan categories.

I first asked in the user chatroom channel, where the apparent developer who added them said he didn't know how they were different, and did not reply when I asked if they could have better names. Thus my report here.

What should have happened?

Just like the options from previous versions (which still appear in 1.0 beta) have names which are somewhat descriptive, so that the user can have some clue about how they are different, I think the new "autotrace" options need to have somewhat descriptive names too. Otherwise, you will see this as a new frequently asked question in the forum, once 1.0 stable is released.

Based on what little I understand, I might suggest something like "basic trace". Although that is clearly lacking, it's better than "autotrace", when autotrace is what all the options do.

Or if someone else can suggest a better name, I'd be happy to have that used. The bottom line is that the user needs some clue about what makes each option different. And as far as the new autotrace options, the new Help tab of that dialog does not help.

Note that I have tested those options. But I am unable to discern what makes them different. They just have different results in some cases. In others, not so much.
