Issue saving files

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Inkscape
  • Make edits to a file (or not)
  • Click Save As or Save or Export to PNG

What happened?

Tried to save file (export to PNG), and it tells me "Could not read contents of...Error opening directory XXXX. Operation not permitted" whatever location I am trying to click on in the save dialogue box. Unable to save anywhere on my computer (Mac with OS Catalina). I can't "Save As", "Save" or "Export" because it won't allow me to save the file anywhere even when the file already exists.

What should have happened?

Should have been able to save the Inkscape file wherever I want

Inkscape Version and Operating System:

  • Inkscape Version: 1.0 Beta (Mac) 9/19/2019
  • Operating System: Catalina OS
  • Operating System version: 10.15
