Feature request - Hot reload Additional fonts directories
Summary:
It is not recommended to install a lot of fonts to design, but instead a font manager, in this case I use FontBase. I tried to follow the steps in this tutorial https://www.ericshefferman.com/2020/06/25/fontbase-font-manager-and-inkscape/ but For inkscape to recognize any font it's needed to close and open the application, which significantly decreases productivity.
Theoretically, one must just add an additional folder for fonts, but it is still required to restart inkscape. Imagine doing this for every font one tests in a design (can be from 5 to any number).
Steps to reproduce:
- open Inkscape
- Add fontbase additional folders for new fonts
- open FontBase
- Activate any font in FontBase
- Select Text tool in Inkscape
- push the refresh button
What happened?
Nothing happens, the new font is not recognized unless restarting inkscape.
What should have happened?
New font added to the list for use.
