HPGL doesn't lift pen at end or plot or section ?
Inkscape is an amazing piece of software. Kudos to the developers.
I use Inkscape to drive my big pen plotter by saving various graphics in HPGL format and then sending that file to my plotter.
Every once in a while when plotting out a file, it fails to lift the pen after drawing an object. I've tested this on two different plotters, both do the same thing.
One time it always fails to lift the pen is when it returns to home after completing a drawing. It always draws a line from where it last was to the pen home position. It is like it is missing a lift pen command after the last object.
Steps to reproduce:
- open Inkscape
- Open an SVG drawing.
- Save As HPGL
- Send HPGL file to the plotter.
What happened?
It plots great, except for the odd straight line that shouldn't be there as it moves from one location to another between objects. One of these instances is after the last object when the plotter returns to home.
What should have happened?
No straight line at the end of the plot.
