Rendering equations - Lower edge of characters is cut off

Summary:

When rendering LaTex equations using the 'Formula (pdflatex)' extension, the lower edge of characters is cut off in case of some high formulas like \frac, \int (with bounds), \sum (with bounds) if the lower edge of the character is the lowest point of the equation.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Open a new document
  • Go to Extensions -> Render -> Formula (pdflatex)
  • Enter $\frac{1}{i}$
  • Click apply
  • Enter $\frac{1}{1+i}$
  • Click apply

What happened?

With the first result, the lower edge of the i is missing, whereas the character is complete in the second case. In the latter case the lower edge of the plus sign is the lowest point of the equation. The same happens in case of $\int_i^\infty$ or $\sum_{i=1}^\infty$ where also the lower edge of i is missing.

What should have happened?

The characters should be complete in all cases.
