Can't open EPS File with German Umlauts

Steps to reproduce:
- Rename an EPS-File to "Ümläut.eps" Can't open EPS-files with german Umlauts like ä,ö,ü, Ä,Ö,Ü in the filename or path. PNG- and PDF- files open without any problem.
What happened?
The following error is returned:

The file imports, but without any visible objects in it.
