Extension Motion has unexpected result on path with multiple subpaths

Summary:

... When I use the Motion extension under the Generate Path tool, there are extra paths generated that I don't need.

Steps to reproduce:

• open Inkscape
• Create Text
• Make text a path by selecting text and choosing Object to Path
• Ungroup the text to individual letters
• Select Union under Path menu to make it one path
• Select Motion... under Extensions/Generate Path
• Set the magnitude and angle (in example I used 20 and 45)

What happened?

... Extra artifacts are created behind the path.

What should have happened?

... It should've created a 3D effect without the extra artifacts.
