Howard Chan

Builder. I ship small, opinionated tools that take one problem seriously and refuse to lie to you about it.

Themes that show up across what I work on:

  • Honest measurement. Backtests that don't peek at the future. Arbitrage spreads computed after fees, shipping, duty, and FX — not before.
  • Disciplined automation. Cron + LLMs as separate layers. Plumbing is plumbing. Models reason on top.
  • Small, typed, testable. TypeScript / Python with strict types, leak-resistant tests, and modules small enough to explain on a whiteboard.

Project What it does
claude-flywheel 4-layer self-improvement loop for Claude Code. Hooks log every tool call; weekly LLM reflection writes durable instincts the next session inherits.
quant-pipeline Research framework for prediction markets: 7-stage typed pipeline, walk-forward backtesting, property-based leak guards. Ships no edges — closes off the common ways to fool yourself.
prediction-market-edge Aggregates Polymarket + Kalshi. Surfaces cross-venue arbitrage and thin-market mispricing. Zero runtime dependencies.
Card-Reselling-Optimization Bayesian-calibrated scoring engine for Japan trading card arbitrage. Live Mercari / Yahoo scans, trader-feedback calibration, fee-aware spread modeling.
tcg-arb-scanner Cross-border trading card arbitrage scanner — JP / US / EU marketplaces, net-of-everything spreads.
HireVue-Preparation Next.js + Prisma interview prep with a deterministic AI scoring pipeline and OpenAI-backed evaluation worker.
