Retain an existing Next Visit Date?
There are some scenarios where we don't want to change a future Next Visit Date for a Contact.
For example, let's say we have a Bible Study every Friday. We record the Visit (type = Bible Study) in ServicePlanner, and based on the Workflow rules it automatically sets the Next Visit Date to the following Friday.
But ... before the next Study we make a phone call on the student that we want to record as an RV, or we pop in and give them some literature etc. When we record this Visit (type = Return Visit), the Workflow rules will trigger once more and make the Next Visit Date a week from today - as opposed to just leaving the Next Visit Date as the Friday when we have the Study.

This ticket is about coming up with a graceful way to identify such collisions and to retain the existing Visit Date for the Study. But the solution needs to be flexible and work with most visit types I would assume - not just a Study.
