HopToDesk update not notified: at which URL can I test for the presence of an update via my bash script under a cron job?
Dear developers,
On 11/19/2022, I installed HopToDesk 1.32.1 for Windows 64-bit from the official website (not via winget install 9N0NXG9ZMF7Z -s msstore nor via the Microsoft Store interface).
On 03/31/2023, I checked the version number in the HopToDesk interface, as well as the installation date in the Windows 10 settings. The number and date was the same as on 11/19/2022 and I did not receive any notification from the software.
I went to the official HopToDesk website, and without logging in on the github and gitlab repositories: no version number displayed for Windows! No changelog! So I decided to download "blindly" the HopToDesk binary from the github site. I executed it, then stopped it. Then I clicked on the HopToDesk launch shortcut on the desktop and checked the version. The installed version of the software changed to 1.33.4 without notifying me!
I don't understand your upgrade strategy at all, which seems quite special to me. But please provide the URL of a web page clearly displaying the current version of HopToDesk, so that we can at least test for an update via a bash script under a cron job.
Thanks in advance for fixing this shortcoming.
