Cross compiling doesn't work due to the requirement on bin2c in the build process.
The build process currently fails when cross compiling due to bin2c being built, then subsequently used in the build process its self. Some distros (such as void linux) use cross compiling in the build/package process to target other architectures.
It would be nice to either have bin2c replaced with a pre-existing tool (like xxd with the -i switch), replaced with some combination of makefile/shell/binutils, or split out into a standalone utility such that it can be built and used separately from hexer.
