Should we allow users to take notes in private on various discussion threads?

The feature is to avoid spamming other users while the note is a work-in-progress. For the user, this note will appear as part of the discussion. However, it will remain hidden for the rest of the group. Once it is finished, the user can then choose to unhide it/share it with the larger group with just a click of a button.

The idea is to provide a tool for users to record and organize their thoughts. These thoughts that are triggered by the discussions can then be researched upon later as per the user's convenience.
