### Summary Over the past couple of years the GitLab community has expressed interest in running GitLab on ARM64. Various community attempts have been made to test and support doing so, but there have been some set backs along the way that have blocked progress. We believe that some of these blockers have been eliminated by improvements made to our build process, and recent Go updates. In late 2018, AWS launched ARM-based EC2 A1 instances in North America and Europe and has since been rolling them out to other regions. A1 instances offer cost savings compared to other instance types, and GitLab customers have expressed interest in running GitLab on these instance types. ### Objective This epic tracks customer demand, and the research and action items required to support running GitLab on ARM64. ### Scope * Omnibus packages built for arm64 * Container images built for arm64
