## Summary In an effort to expand the feature set around design management, improve usability for [designer personas](https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/product/personas/#presley-product-designer) and make cross team collaboration easier, we should create a new Work Items type of "Design". ## Problems to solve 1. As a designer, I want to capture details and requirements about the designs which are being requested of me. 1. As a designer, I want a place to have general conversation related to the design task as well as specific conversation related to a part of the uploaded design. 1. As a product manager, I prefer to have individual issues for each step in the product development lifecycle, this allows me to schedule each step independently, create relationships (especially indicating blocking relationship), and view who is currently the DRI of the work. 1. As a product manager, I want to easily filter my view or board by development or design issues depending upon the job. Today, I rely on filtering by labels or assignee, but in both cases, this is not 100% accurate.
