Pajamas improvement opportunities
As part of https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-design/-/issues/1394, we surveyed product designers to see how they they interacted with pajamas, and if they saw any opportunities for improving our design documentation.
**Insights**
* Many are contributing when they are spotting gaps in the documentation/ components
* Where contributions have decreased, it's because of time and balancing job responsibilities
* When people reported that it was difficult to contribute, they said it was because of the back-and-forth during review, how challenging it is getting the work prioritized by your stage group, all the steps required to contribute, and not really knowing where to start.
* They additionally listed the barriers to contributing as time, seeing the need for contributing, knowing how to contribute, feeling like it's hard to contribute and lacking incentives for contributing.
* People are proud of PJs and grateful to the Foundations team!
* Would appreciate additional space for working on PJs.
* Would also appreciate more styled, polished and/or up-to-date documentation (easier to parse).
**Things people would like to see more of in Pajamas:**
* Want more visuals
* Want site to be responsive
* Want more mobile/responsive sizing examples
* If it was easier to read/scan quickly
* Knowing when the docs were updated
* Having all components completed
* Having more use cases covered
* Linking to user research
* Introducing search
* Utilizing Storybook over JS Fiddle
* More information about interactions
* More architectural info/more info about the larger systems the components feed into
**People would contribute more to Pajamas if:**
* They could easily find stuff that needs to be worked (in a backlog, in a slack channel, at the top of the UX Weekly agenda)
* If it was/felt easier to contribute
* It felt more collaborative (beyond just pinging the department on the issue - for example, pairing with an engineer or another designer)
