This epic describes our 3y vision and holds the list of sub-epics and issues which contribute to our 3y vision. ## :point_up: The Problem - Configuring a pipeline, validating yaml syntax, validating pipeline configuration can be confusing for first-time and existing Gitlab users - There is no dedicated flow for creating a pipeline configuration, which makes it difficult to offer more powerful editing, validation and visualisation capabilities specific to CI configuration - Users needs to know YAML - Users need to learn our syntax (steep learning curve) - There is no way for the user to know how their pipeline looks until its actually running ## :heart: Desired experience Here is a quick 5-min walk-through for the Pipeline Authoring 3 year vision aspirational mock-ups.
