## Release notes You can now star any object within GitLab to save and easily access the pages that matter most to your work, rather than being limited to starring only projects as before. This unified starring system gives you one consistent way to bookmark important issues, merge requests, epics, and other GitLab pages, replacing the various workarounds you may have been using and making it simple to organize your most important resources across the entire platform. ## Problem to solve * "I want to save certain items that are important to me so I can easily access them later." ## Proposal * Allow users to "star" any object within GitLab * Objects that have been starred should be easily accessible from the personalized homepage * GitLab should automatically determine the title and icon for starred items based on their type * Raise internal tracking events when a user interacts with the starring feature * See complete design details in https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/522014+ ## Target segment Our primary goal with this feature is to drive long-term user retention. We generally expect this feature to be impactful to longtime / power users rather than new or trialing users.
