## Summary [CycloneDX version 1.6](https://cyclonedx.org/news/cyclonedx-v1.6-released/) announced support for additional BOM formats. These new formats include: * Hardware (HBOM) * Services (SaaSBOM) * AI/ML models (AI/ML-BOM) * Crypto (CBOM) The goal of these new formats is to strengthen the software supply chain. Because GitLab is the DevSecOps platform and our customers have varying use cases for our platform we should provide them the ability to generate Bill of Materials for Hardware, services, AI/ML models, and crypto assets.
