Make the Package and Container registries easier to use
## Problem to solve
The goal of the Package group is to build a set of features that within three years, will allow ninety percent of our customers to store all of their packages and artifacts in GitLab. However, the goal is not to just store all of that information, but to present the data, and corresponding meta data, to provide a seamless experience in building, testing and deploying code.
This means that each registry should include all of the relevant details, links and evidence related to how our users software is being built and how external dependencies are used. Currently we are only displaying a limited amount of meta data and provide limited guidance for how packages were built, consumed and by whom.
This epic will reimagine and redesign the user experience for the GitLab package and container registry. We will:
1. Conduct user research to evaluate what data and evidence is required by users
1. Redesign the package and container registry user interfaces to include that meta data and streamlined workflows for common tasks, such as downloading packages, updating docker files or sharing images.
1. Improve the user experience to make it easier to find and discover items in the registry, by introducing features like sorting, and filtering.
1. Create greater visibility at the group and instance level, by adding in new views that aggregate our customers registries at those levels.
1. Support additional, integration specific meta data, like docker labels or npm tags.
