In https://gitlab.com/groups/gitlab-org/-/epics/11720+ we aim to test a few features depending on Clickhouse with self-managed clients. It's not yet determined when and if we want to move with open beta. This epic is meant to capture issues that aren't strictly necessary for the closed beta but will improve the self-managed experience and our experience running it on gitlab.com, e.g. automatically running database migrations during version upgrades.
