[Build/Install] configure option to compile w/ no Java
Ported Issue from Mantis Original ID: 861 Reported By: John Hinsdale
SEVERITY: MINOR Submitted: 2005-04-04 17:43:11
OS: --
VERSION: CVS 2.3.2
DESCRIPTION
It would be nice if ./configure had an option like
--without-java
to disable compilation against a Java environment for those
who don't want Java compiled in.
Presently if a program "java" appears in the $PATH the user is forced to compile in Java support. In my case I don't need/want it, but at the same time there is a "java" in my $PATH.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
[ellson] It just uses swig to generate wrappers that can be used by a java program. It doesn't add anything to the dot (neato, etc.) executable itself, and it doesn't use the java compiler AFAIK.
Is this actually failing on your platform, or are you just concerned about performance?
