Introduce "primary path"

We want to be able to designate a container's "primary path" (possibly simply the first path in the manifest). The name is in quotation marks because the idea of primary paths already exists in the codebase; it requires some thought which should have the name "primary path" and which name should be changed and to what.

The primary path should be:

accessible via a property
possible to set with modify methods
