Plans to "merge" back (or replace) to wget?
This project seems to be bringing new blood to wget, and a good "fork"(re-write to be precise) like this is very welcome by the community. Thanks for the good work!
As wget is included in most distros by default, merging wget2 back into wget might expand user base by a few orders of magnitude. Is it ever planned? Is it even possible? As wget2 also (like wget) seems a FSF (supported?) project according to the Project overview page, was backward-compatibility breaking changes the motive to start from scratch?
p.s. By replace, I mean something like the
gpg now points to
gnupg2 in Debian, where
gnupg1 is also available but is not installed by default.
