gnutls_record_get_state() doesn't report EncryptThenMac status

I'd like to experiment with using gnutls_record_get_state() to let me do crypto offload (to my own application, which can then use accelerated crypto asm and sendmmsg()/recvmsg() to its heart's desire).

But I can't see how I can get GnuTLS to tell me whether it's doing EtM or not. Do I have to force EtM disabled if I want to use gnutls_record_get_state()?
