Show current process in window name, like Terminal

Is there a way to get the name of the current process to appear in the
tab like it does in Terminal.app? I currently have it set to display
the current working directory, but if I have several command line apps
(octave, maxima, etc.) I'd like to be able to see which process is
running in which tab.

I think Terminal can actually do it automatically. I'm using tcsh and
do not have this configured in my .tshrc and terminal displays the
current program name in the title. I guess it's looking at the
children of the shell process, finding the session leader, and using
its name.
