Zoom shortcut has changed and does not work
Thanks for filing an issue! Please answer the questions below so I can help you.
-
iTerm2 version:3.0.0
-
OS version:10.13.6
-
Attach ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here (drag-drop from finder into this window) No such file existed, so I attached my own preferences plist.
-
Attach a debug log, if possible. Instructions at https://iterm2.com/debuglog debuglog.txt

Are you reporting a performance issue, excessive CPU usage, or a hang? No.
-
Are you reporting a crash? No.
-
Are you reporting excessive memory usage? No
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
- Open a new regular sized terminal window (80x25) Using Command+N
- Attempt to use Option+Command+=
- Shift+Command+O to Zoom the current iTerm window
What happened:
When using #1 (closed) - a new window is opened which is 80x25 in size.
When using #2 (closed) - nothing happens. In iTerm2 3.2.9 Option+Command+= performed the Zoom operation and it would zoom vertically if the Cmd+, General preferences was set to vertically.
When using #3 (closed) - a window for search sessions, profiles, or arrangements is opened.
What should have happened:
The current terminal window should have grown to maximum vertical hight (my general window settings has the Vertical box checked).
The newest documentation states:
Zoom button maximizes vertically only
If enabled, the green "Zoom" button expands a terminal window vertically but does not affect its width. This can be overridden by holding down shift while clicking the zoom button.
I do not understand this documentation as the new button for "Zoom" seems to already have a SHIFT in its short cut.
I also seem to be unable to figure out how to change the short-cut for Zoom to be the one that used to work (i.e., the Option+Command+= binding).
Note: This issue may be related to #7894 (closed)
I will add that the documentation about using SHIFT while clicking the zoom button is also an issue which is why I am opening a new bug report.
