New Tab Dialog Box
Thanks for filing an issue! Please answer the questions below so I can help you.
- iTerm2 version: 3.3.0beta3
- OS version: 10.14.5
- Attach com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here (drag-drop from finder into this window) - attached
- Attach a debug log, if possible. Instructions at https://iterm2.com/debuglog - this URL timed out for me, is there another place to see these instructions?
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
-
iTerm2 is setup in hotkey-dropdown mode ("Exclude from Dock..." is enabled, and a Profile titled 'Hotkey Window' is assigned to a hotkey (F1). I also have 'Show tab bar even when there is only one tab" enabled.
-
Pull up iTerm with the hotkey.
-
Double-click the empty space on the tab bar to open a new tab in the hotkey window.
What happened: I get the new tab but I also get a dialog box titled "New Tab Title", with the text: "If this is empty, the tab takes the active session’s title. Variables and function calls enclosed in (…) will replaced with their evaluation." I can hit OK or cancel to clear the dialog, but I can't find the setting to keep it from opening in the first place.
What should have happened: The new tab should have opened without this dialog box.
Additional info:
I do not get the dialog box when I open a new tab by right-clicking and selecting 'New Tab -> Hotkey Window', nor do I get the dialog box when using a profile key mapping with action "New Tab with 'Hotkey Window' Profile".
I do get the dialog box when I open a new window with the default profile and double-click the tab bar.
Please let me know if there's any more info you need.
