Double-click to select URL selects too much with parenthesised URL
When a URL is in parentheses, double-clicking it selects the closing parenthesis as well, even though it is not part of the URL, and
) is not in the "characters considered as part of word for selection" option (it is set to
/-+\~_., which I believe is the default.
This is particularly problematic when working with RuboCop, as the URL explaining the failure is parenthesised, and the anchor has to be manually edited in the URL bar every time:
app/models/settings.rb:51:20: C: Style/RegexpLiteral: Use %r around regular expression. (https://github.com/rubocop-hq/ruby-style-guide#percent-r)
- iTerm2 version: 3.2.7
- OS version: Mac OS X 10.14.3 (18D42)
- Attach ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here (drag-drop from finder into this window) com.googlecode.iterm2.plist
- Attach a debug log, if possible. debuglog.txt
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
echo '(https://example.com/)'at a shell prompt.
- Double-click on the word "example".
https://example.com) is selected.
What should have happened:
https://example.com is selected.
