visual notification of Esc key pressed (macbook pro without hardware esc key)
As user who previously had hardware Esc key and now having Esc on touchbar I miss confidence that I really pressed Esc. I don't like looking onto keyboard when I'm pressing keys, so instead I'm trying to press the place where "Esc" is supposed to be several times just to be sure that I indeed pressed/activated Esc. That not optimal.
iterm2 could help me solve that problem (or other app that does that globally on macos but I known no such apps)
This feature request is about adding (optional) visual notification on when Esc key is pressed.
This could be made in the same way as currently visual bell is made. Icon with "Esc" text showing for short period of time on middle of terminal screen (and if visual bell happens in the same time both both icons should show in middle of screen, on one line).
It could be also made differently with smaller, less visible (less distracting for some maybe) indication. Same way as visual bell but smaller and in some corner.
(not sure if doing this in generic way, to work for any key, make sense. It makes big sense for Esc though)
What do you think?
