Significant frame tearing by lines in split tmux panes at high resolutions
Vertically split tmux panes in a full-width iTerm window on a 4096 x 2304 display experience significant screen tearing by text lines (not pixels) under high throughput (e.g. when tailing a log). There is no significant tearing if the pane is maximized or not split, or if the window width is reduced by about a third. This appears to correlate only with window resolution, not column count.
By tearing I mean that I can see the tmux pane being redrawn by line top to bottom, not that there is only a de-sync near the vertical middle of the frame.
I'm sure this is due to pushing up against the performance limitations of my MBP (13″ 2018, 2.7 GHz i7, Iris Plus 655 1536 MB), however I'm wondering if anything could be done to optimize tmux pane drawing in this circumstance.
This occurs regardless of whether GPU rendering is enabled.
