[Feature Request] Multiple iTerm2 Windows attached to border of screen
I have an ultra-widescreen (UWS) monitor and I would like to attach multiple iTerm2 windows at the top of my screen. The current Window "Style" options let me attach one to the center (or full-width) of the top, center (or full-height) left, center (or full-width) of the bottom, or center (or full-height) of the right of the screen. With a UWS there is more than enough space for several terminal windows (3?) at the top and bottom, but I haven't found a way to do this with separate windows. I could perhaps have one large full-width window split into four parts, for example, but I cannot devise a way to do this with separate windows.
I see three ways to do something this:
- you could have an option whereby the user could specify the number of windows on an edge and they are automatically distributed across that edge. 1 would be centered, 2 would be centered at 1/3 and 2/3 of the width, etc
- you could add an option for alignment "Top of Screen, left aligned", "Top of Screen, center aligned", "Top of Screen, right aligned" to Style (or maybe another drop down in the same control grouping), or
- you could incorporate an offset, probably in pixels or in screen percent, either from the current center point or from the screen origin.
Option 3 would allow for more precise alignment and more custom tweaking by users where the other two are much simpler. I could really make any of them work.
