Long command lines not wrapping to the next line when using an emoji in PS1. My PS1 works in Terminal, but not iTerm2

  • iTerm2 version: 3.0
  • OS version: 10.13.2

Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:

  1. Set PS1 to contain an emoji. For example: PS1="😋 $ ".
  2. Type until you reach the end of the window, then keep typing a little bit more.

  • What happened: The text doesn't continue on the 2nd line, but instead overwrites the 1st line. Covering the
