Bad drawing performance in 3.1
Thanks for filing an issue! Please answer the questions below so I can help you.
- iTerm2 version: 3.1.1
- OS version: 10.12.6
- Attach ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here (drag-drop from finder into this window)
- Attach a debug log, if possible. Instructions at https://iterm2.com/debuglog
- Are you reporting a performance issue or a hang? Please attach a sample. Instructions at https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/HowToSample
- Are you reporting a crash? Please attach the crash log. Instructions at https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/crash-logs
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem: 0. Open iTerm fullscreen
- Open vim.
- Open a few files in individual panes
:vsp foo.txt
What happened:
As multiple panes were added to the vim session, redraw performance would begin to degrade.
What should have happened:
As in iTerm 3.0, the redraw should be perceived to be instantaneous.
A few notes:
- I started with default preferences, made the recommended changes from #5679 (comment 1) com.googlecode.iterm2.plist
- iTerm is running at 3840x2160
- Timing log: iterm_3.1_timing.rtf
