Unicode characters cannot be backspaced over (#190)
Perl 6 uses Unicode characters. When I type them into iTerm2 and use the backspace or left arrow key, the cursor only goes back over half of the character, corrupting the line and making it impossible to edit it.
This is the same as described in issue 190 ("Won't fix") from 2 years ago See #190 (closed)
It is important to fix this defect now. I cannot use iTerm2 to write Perl 6 programs or use the interactive command line with Unicode characters, which are an important part of the language.
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
- Type some text such as: for 0..∞
- Type the backspace key once What happened: Displays this: for 0..
What should have happened: Backspace key should delete the entire character, so it should display this: for 0..
- iTerm2 version:3.1 beta 1
- OS version:Mac OS X 10.12.6 (Macbook Pro late 2016)
