Every keystroke in ⌘F moves to previous match
- iTerm2 version: Build 3.1.beta.6
- OS version: 10.12.6 (16G29)
- Attach ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here: com.googlecode.iterm2.plist
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
- Run a command that outputs the same string a few times, e.g.
yes "hello hi" | head -n 10
- Cmd-F, and type "hello hi"
What happened:
- As every character of the search string is input, iTerm highlights the next match above the current one. This means by the time we're done typing, the 6th-to-last line of "hello hi" is highlighted. (which line is highlighted depends on how long you wait for the first and second characters -- in the GIF below, I waited for the first character to perform a search, but not the second character, apparently. If I had waited, I think the 7th-to-last line would be highlighted.)
What should have happened:
- The bottom "hello hi" line should be highlighted.
This is much more annoying when you're searching through the output of a long build that you have run multiple times, for example -- you'll often end up finding results in not the most recent build.
