Sparkle update causes iTerm2 to hang

What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Attempt to "Check for updates"
- If an update is available, the standard Sparkle update will appear and then hang while attempting to retrieve the update information.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I see the standard Sparkle Window, but where I would expect to see the update information, I get the Apple grey "spinner" and iTerm2 will sit there indefinitely.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Mac OSX 10.6.6 (this has been reproduced in 10.6.5 also).
Please provide any additional information below.
I've attached a trace file and the following entries were seen in the console log:
Jan 10 10:09:56 beast iTerm: Cocoa scripting error for '(null)': four character codes must be four characters long.
Jan 10 10:09:56 beast iTerm: .scriptSuite warning for result type of command 'launch' in suite 'iTerm': the type PTYSession ('Pssn') doesn't match the result Apple event code ('').
