I'm pretty sure prefs and the log won't be necessary. (But please correct me if I'm wrong.)
This appears to be a simple problem of a regex not handling this use case.
If I have a file in my current directory whose path begins with httpd
(which I do) and I command-click on the path (which I just did), it will open my default browser, rather than my editor. I think it would be helpful to require the ://
after https?
, to ensure that file paths aren't used. (I suppose it is hypothetically possible for a file path to include https://
, but that would be a very rare case indeed, while my case is just slightly unusual.
