Feature request: Allow option to have timestamps always on

Since the introduction of timestamps, I absolutely love them.

I was wondering if a feature could be added to allow these to stay on - even when the app closes. I would imagine either the option staying on until you turn it off, or the option appearing under appearance or profiles.
