Changing profiles is cumbersome and dangerous
It's very easy to define multiple profiles, and to start a new window/tab/pane with any of the profiles. However, I find it really inconvenient and dangerous to change the profile of an already existing session.
You need to choose View -> Edit Current Session (why is it under View when it's Edit?) or rightclick -> Edit Session (I wonder why the wording is different) (or, okay, after a while you learn the hotkey). Here you can change profile with double clicking (but then you still have to close this window) or by clicking on the bottom right button, but watch out!!! Clicking on the other, much larger button causes you completely to lose that profile's settings!
And after successfully switching profile, the title becomes of a different format (containing the profile name) than if I started off with that profile originally. It's something that also bothers me (there might be some settings for it, haven't checked – I'd expect a session started from session A and then switched to B to have the same title as one started with B).
I've found that (in gnome-terminal) I hardly ever know in advance what profile I'd like to use (and even if I do, I just launch a new one with the current one's setting and then change it), most of the time I change it during the lifetime of the tab (e.g. when performing a certain task that requires transparency, or would require coloring the numbers (#1814 (closed) y'know)).
I suggest the right click menu to contain a Switch Profile submenu next to the New Window, New Tab submenus, and also the global Profiles menu to have such a submenu.
Thx for considering it! :)
