No colors with wide chars

Colors with wide chars aren't printed correctly: see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/29221980/c-print-wide-chars-in-colors-in-iterm2
1) Attach your ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist to this
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Run this snippet in C:
write(1, L"\x1b[31m", 5 * sizeof(wchar_t));
write(1, L"BLA", 3 * sizeof(wchar_t));
write(1, L"\x1b[0m", 5 * sizeof(wchar_t));
What is the expected output?
Expected output is: 'BLA' in red color
What do you see instead?
Instead we get: '[31mBLA[0m' without color
What version of iTerm2 are you using?
What OS version are you using?
OS X 10.10.2
Please provide any additional information below.
It's working correctly in Terminal.app
